Valley & Wine Walks
Many people visit the valley of Franschhoek to experience superb cuisine and wines in the Huguenot village that is surrounded by magnificent mountains. A wine tour usually entails driving around in a car or bus, stopping briefly at a few wineries to sample some wines. By walking a route that runs through different vineyards and estates, Franschhoek Trails offers unique and informative insights into running vineyards and wineries that are unavailable to the casual cellar-door visitor. Unmatched views are complemented by vinicultural discussions and the opportunity to meet the interesting people behind the wines of the boutique and family-owned farms. Engage with an alternative perspective of South African culture through listening to tales of pre-historic people of the Cape and have an interactive encounter with the indigenous flora and fauna of the valley. Franschhoek Trail´s guided walks present a glimps into the past and present of Franschhoek and surrounds.
