Welcome to Wilderer´s Distillery! For Grappa and Eau de Vie lovers this beautiful farm is a “must-stop”! It is here where the finest possible Grappa and Eau de Vie from the country’s best fruits are produced. The increasing number of international awards are proof of Master Distiller Helmut Wilderer´s successful philosophy not to compromise when it comes to quality. In season, the distillery is open daily for tastings beween 10:00 and 17:00. During this time you can also enjoy Wilderer´s famous Flammkuchen- a french pizza speciality. On the first Sunday of the month, experience one of the renowned Live Jazz afternoons with BBQ-Braai, cool wine, beer, fun, laughter and of course Wilderer’s Grappa & Eau de Vie! Wilderer´s Grappa and Eau de Vie is made the traditional way without any artificial flavours or colourants. Helmut Wilderer’s personal selection of the fruits and completion of every process makes Wilderer’s the quality it is. The special attention to detail has been rewarded with the highest international awards during the past years. At the 2004 "World Spirits Festival" Wilderer’s Grappa Muscato Barrique won “ Double Gold” and the “Spirit of the Year” Award! Both the Grappa Pinotage Barrique and the Apple, Calvados Style, won “Gold”. Five silver medals were awarded for: Williams Birne, Cape Fynbos Bitter, Himbeergeist, Grappa Pinotage Limited Edition & Grappa Gewürztraminer. This outstanding performance earned Wilderer’s the prestigious title of “1 st Class Distillery”. At the 2005 World Spirits Festival it rained a triple “Gold” for the Grappa Muscato Barrique, the Grappa Pinotage Barrique and the Cape Fynbos Healing Herbs Bitter. Both the Obstler and the Apple Barrique received silver medals. In 1995, Helmut Wilderer was the first producer of Grappa & Eau de Vie in South Africa. Today his “Spirits of the Cape ” are appreciated by connoisseurs around the world!
