Welcome to Skilpadvlei, the home to Willie and Hanlie Joubert. With 60 of the 78ha under vineyards, Skilpadvlei is a fully operational wine farm that has been part of the Joubert family for over four generations. But Skilpadvlei is also the ideal getaway for nature lovers with the surrounding vineyards, trees and mountains offering stunning panoramic views and plenty of outdoor activities from bird-watching, to hiking between the vineyards or fishing in the farm dam. There are six cosy and peaceful self catering guest cottages, each with a fully-equipped open-plan kitchen, linen and towels, a television and private barbeque area on the patio. The Plaaskombuis Restaurant with its shady terrace offers delightful lunches and wine tastings with panoramic views into the beautiful winelands. Skilpadvlei is also wellknown for its ideal conference, wedding and function facilities. All six self-catering guest cottages on the farm nestle in the vineyards overlooking a beautiful dam the Stellenbosch Mountains and vineyards. Towels & linen are included. 3 Bachelor Flats: Sleeps 2 people, open plan with a fully equipped kitchen. Ensuite bathroom with a shower. Barbeque facilities on the terrace with view. 2 Two-bedroom Cottages: 2 bedrooms and 2 more beds in the living room, two bathrooms (one bath, one shower). Barbeque facilities on private terrace with view. 1 Three-bedroom Cottages: 3 Bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Living room and fully equipped kitchen. R 600 p.n. Conferences & Functions (Standard Maske) Skilpadvlei boasts excellent conference facilities catering for up to a 120 delegates. Any conference can be fully catered to your specific needs and those of the delegates. The conference facilities are fully equipped and also fully air-conditioned in summer and heated in winter.  Traditional rustic weddings and wedding ceremonies on the farm are also very popular. Beautiful photo's can be taken in the garden, at the guest cottages, in the vineyards or at the dam. Due to popular demand we do not do functions of less than 120 people on weekends and public holidays. The harvest consists of 80% red and 20% white wine grapes. All the grapes on the farm are supplied to the Vlottenburg Wine Cellar, which is renowned for its good value for money wines. Our Plaaskombuis Restaurant with its shady terrace offers delightful lunches and wine tastings with panoramic views into the beautiful winelands. We also promote and sell some excellent wines of smaller neighboring vineyards. Our wine and curious shop is open daily from 10h00 to 17h00.
