Discover the Essence of Nature by Hiking on Wheels The Nature Discovery Tours on ATV/Quad Bikes are the passionate creation of Brian Pickering, whose fascination and deep understanding in the spectacular diversity of the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve led to his marvellous idea, how to make this secret wonderland accessible to all nature lovers. Together with Western Cape Nature Conservation, Brian planned and mapped out exclusive ATV/Quad Bike trails for entry, skilled and extremely challenging off-road riding, penetrating deep into this pristine, unique wilderness, but with minimal impact on ecologically sensitive areas. The quad bikes are specially adapted with low noise exhaust systems and low impact tyres to ride with comfort and safety. A qualified field guide leads the tours and provides interesting educational talks and cares for the needs of the group. The tours are truly unique! You will see some of the rarest plants on earth, enjoy a totally new rejuvenating experience, a relaxation and memorable adventure of a totally different kind!
Discovery Tours The Kogelberg is one of the richest floral regions in the world with the most spectacular mountain and valley scenery on earth. Although the tours offer three levels of trails (entry, skilled and extremely challenging), we always ride responsibly, with minimal impact on ecologically sensitive areas. We provide all motorcycles/quads, protective gear, guides, accommodation and meals, while you only need to bring a love of nature a sense of Adventure and reasonable fitness. Tour 1: Basic Tour This tour is perfect for beginners and families and an ideal outing half way from Cape Town to Overberg destinations on the N2. There is no licence required and kids under 10 go free with parents. Included in the price is a bike or quad, fuel, an experienced field guide, protective gear, all permits, entry fees taxes, en route refreshments and a 12% donation to Cape Nature Conservation. Departure: twice a day / every day Duration: 3,5 hours Price: R 485 per Person Tour 2: Half Day Tour This popular tour departing from Grabow is not to be missed: The unique way to get in touch with mother natures finest floral display, the magnificent views and the historical sites will create everlasting memories. There is no licence required on these basic or advanced level trails. Included in the price is a bike or quad, fuel, an experienced field guide, protective gear, all permits, entry fees taxes, en route refreshments, breakfast and a 12% donation to Cape Nature Conservation. Departure: 07h30 in summer, 09h00 in winter Duration: 5,5 hours Price: R 750 per Person (min 2 /max 6) Tour 3: Day Tour A truly awesome 8 hours riding tour and incomparable introduction to all highlights of the Cape Floral Kingdom. We will visit diverse areas of habitat and venues of real interest. Magnificent photographic views! No licence required on these basic or advanced level trails. Departure: 07h30 in summer, 09h00 in winter Duration: 8 hours Price: R 880 per Person (min 2 /max 6 riders) Tour 4: Two Day Tour Those who have experienced the two day trail with overnight bush camping, come back as new people. They will have discovered Mother Nature’s best kept secrets on exclusive trails through Nature Reserves, state land and private properties.
