Aptly named for the inquisitive birds that wander around the pond outside, the Duck Inn Restaurant is conveniently located in the beautiful Helderberg Nature Reserve, close to the entrance gate, offering visitors light meals, cool drinks and also coffee, tea and cakes. It is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the stunning views, whether you want to eat and drink something before or after a walk in the Reserve with its unique fynbos vegetation, or sit around a cosy fire on a rainy day. The Reserve itself is well worth a visit: it comprises a botanical garden, which should not take more than one to two hours to cover, and a number of hiking trails up the southern slopes of the Helderberg Mountain for the energetic nature lover and climber.
