There are more offers of a range of much lower jumps at Gouritz River Bridge very spectacular as well – and there you will also find South Africa’s only commercial bridge swinging operation. The difference between bungee jumping and bridge swinging is with bungee jumping off a bridge with giant elastic bands tied to your feet. Bridge Swinging, on the other hand involves jumping from one bridge tied into climbing ropes suspended from an adjacent bridge. | Paragliding / Hangliding | ||
| Paragliding is a favorite adrenalin sport and there is hang glider pilots, who have made record-breaking distance flights in South Africa. There are over a hundred listed paragliding or hang gliding launch sites, although both, paragliding and hangliding can only fly in flat, hot areas and therefore it is very popular in the South African coastal provinces, where the weather is suitable for the gliders. Near the Garden Route town of Wilderness, you can fly over the sea, often seeing dolphins and whales. And, of course, the high-lying areas of the Western and Eastern Cape, the Drakensberg and Mpumalanga offer spectacular mountain scenery. |
